Why GDPR Training Is Essential

A workplace risk assessment is a systematic examination of your work activities, premises and processes to identify what could cause harm to people — and whether you're doing enough to prevent it. Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR), every employer must carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to the health and safety of their employees and anyone else who may be affected by their work activities.

If you have five or more employees, the significant findings of your risk assessment must be recorded in writing. But regardless of your size, risk assessment is the foundation of every health and safety management system — without it, you're managing safety blind.

RADCaT's qualified health and safety consultants carry out thorough, practical workplace risk assessments for businesses of every size and sector across the UK. We don't produce generic templates — we visit your premises, walk your processes, talk to your team and produce site-specific, task-specific assessments that genuinely reflect your operations and give you a clear, prioritised action plan for improvement.

Whether you need a general workplace risk assessment for your office, a task-specific assessment for high-risk activities in a factory, a site-wide review for a multi-building campus, or a pre-project risk assessment for a construction site — RADCaT delivers expert, HSE-compliant assessments tailored to your industry and your operations.

The ICO's first question after a breach is: "What training did staff receive?" If the answer is "none" or "a generic online module three years ago," your enforcement position is significantly weakened. Regular, relevant training from RADCaT protects your organisation.

Common Questions

GDPR Training FAQ

Who needs GDPR training?

Everyone who handles personal data in any capacity — all staff, regardless of role. This includes office workers, teachers, care workers, receptionists, IT staff, HR, marketing, finance, managers and anyone with access to personal data. Volunteers handling personal data also need training.

How often should training be refreshed?

The ICO expects regular refresher training. Best practice is annual refresher for all staff, with additional training when new systems, processes or regulations are introduced. New starters should receive GDPR training as part of their induction.

Can you deliver on INSET days?

Yes. We regularly deliver GDPR training on INSET days for schools. Sessions are typically 1-1.5 hours, leaving time for other INSET activities. We work with your schedule to minimise disruption.

Is online/e-learning available?

Yes. For organisations with remote or distributed workforces, we provide e-learning options. However, we recommend at least initial training is delivered in-person for maximum engagement and the opportunity for staff to ask questions.

Do you provide training certificates?

Yes. Every delegate receives documentation confirming the training content, date and completion. This forms part of your GDPR accountability evidence — demonstrating to the ICO that you invest in staff training.

What makes your training different from generic online courses?

Our training is tailored to your specific organisation, sector and data processing activities. We use real scenarios your team will recognise — not generic examples. Interactive delivery with Q&A. Practical takeaways they can apply immediately.

How much does GDPR training cost?

Priced per session, not per delegate — making it cost-effective for groups. Includes tailored content, all materials and certification. Contact us for a quote based on your team size and requirements.
